A heartrending story about a middle class family and their struggles. Subbiah Pillai (Visu) and his wife Lakshmi (K.R. Vijaya) struggle a lot to make ends meet. Subbiah's merger income from his job in the printing press is not enough for his family; add to that the problems of his children. His woes doesn't end there, his biggest problem in life is his troublesome house owner Jagadambal. One day Subbiah in a fit of anger challenges Jagadambal that in the next three months he will vacate her house and build a house of his own.
